About Mid-West Health The Mid-West Health organisation provides services to the areas governed by the local government bodies of Elliston , Le Hunte and Streaky Bay. Currently the existing services to this area include three hospitals/residential aged care facilities, a standalone low care residence and a comprehensive community health and home based aged care support program. The structure is incorporated under the S.A. Health Commission Act (1976). General Practitioners
in solo practices operate out of Elliston , Wudinna and Streaky Bay and provide
after hours medical services at the three hospitals. Allied health services
are provided from the regional hospitals of Whyalla and Port Lincoln.
Mid-West Health
is a Multipurpose Service (M.P.S.) and receives funding through the Department
of Health (allocated by the Eyre Regional Health Service), the Commonwealth
Department of Health and Aged Care, the H.A.C.C. program, local government and
various agencies responsible for funding the frail, disabled and injured within
the wider community.
