Mid-West Health, Elliston collectively provide low risk inpatient medical services and a comprehensive range of aged care residential services within a purpose built secure environment. The on-going supply of residents shall extend beyond the catchment area of that normally serviced by the Mid-West Health organisation in terms of meeting the needs of those who require care within a secure specialist centre.

Mid-West Health, Elliston provides healthcare services to the District Council of Elliston, covering an area of 6,500 square kilometres with a current population of 1200.

The Elliston Site of Mid-West Health consists of 19 beds, including the Pines Hostel Residence. The services provided include residential aged care services (including short-term respite care), Specialised Secure Dementia Unit 7 beds, 24-hour Emergency and Outpatient Services and low risk inpatient services in the domains of General Practice Medicine. Community health and home-based aged care support programs are coordinated from the Elliston Community Health Service Office.

A General Practitioner provides medical service to the hospital with allied health services provided from the regional hospitals of Whyalla and Port Lincoln.
